John Wood, PEng
Senior Advisor, R&D and Technology
GM Canada, Ltd.
Mr. Wood is the Senior Engineering Advisor for R&D and Technology activities in the Engineering and Product Planning Department at General Motors of Canada in Oshawa, Ontario. His current responsibilities include managing the collaborative research activities at GM of Canada, as well as related work in the innovation, technology management, and intellectual property fields. His professional experiences have included vehicle testing, various systems design roles, vehicle planning, the management of cross-platform technologies and technology planning processes for the vehicles that GM sells in Canada.
Mr. Wood currently serves on a number of organizations, including the Research Management Committee of AUTO21, the standing Committee on Research Partnerships of NSERC, the CANMET Materials Technology Laboratory Advisory Committee, the Innovation Working Group of the Canadian Automotive Partnership Council, and several committees with the Conference Board of Canada.
