Leonard G.D. Allen
President
Solera Sustainable Energies Co.
Leonard is the president of Solera Sustainable Energies Company™ (a division of Phantom Electron Corporation). Starting in business in the late 1980’s in the field of electronic security and surveillance systems, he has continued to build his company into an award-winning Canadian leader in solar power. Leonard believes in leading by example, and in 1992 became one of the earlier sustainable energy pioneers, living in a fully off-grid solar powered home. He believes there are no bounds to the applicability of smart, sustainable supplies of energy and he is committed to furthering the application of clean energy technologies in Canada.
As an expert in his field, Leonard is asked to speak regularly to public and trade audiences. He is a patent holder and has significant experience with technology development support programs such as NRC’s Industrial Research Assistance Program. His company is active in developing products across a broad technology spectrum. Their manufactured products are widely employed in niche areas, notably finding extensive application in Ontario nuclear generating stations.
Leonard has served on the Board of Directors of a publicly traded company and he spent a number of years as Director and then Vice-President of the Canadian Solar Industries Association.
